Students must maintain American Heart Association's Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) & Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) training during this course. This course requires students to meet the Virginia Board of Nursing required clock hours to be eligible to take the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program (NNAAP) exam. Additionally, this course includes the approved opiate competencies for health and medical sciences education.

Some healthcare facilities that accept federal funding (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid) may require criminal background checks and drug screening for students participating in a clinical experience.
