International Baccalaureate Information Technology in a Global Society
Information Technology in a Global Society is a recognized International Baccalaureate (IB) course. This course is designed to promote an understanding and appreciation of the social significance of information technology and networking as students critically analyze and evaluate the influences and ethical considerations arising from the widespread use of information technology and networking. The course focuses on how information systems and networks are used to process and exchange information for control, analysis, and communications.
IB course curricula is available only to IB-identified schools. IB teachers can access them from programme communities within My IB (https://internationalbaccalaureate.force.com/ibportal/IBPortalLogin?lang=en_US
).
Course Sequences
A combination of this course and those below, equivalent to two 36-week courses, is a concentration sequence. Students wishing to complete a specialization may take additional courses based on their career pathways. A program completer is a student who has met the requirements for a CTE concentration sequence and all other requirements for high school graduation or an approved alternative education program.
